An early Wright design, brought to life. This Wrightsicle ornament is adapted from a Frank Lloyd Wright drawing of stylized waterlilies, the flowers that bloom in ponds across the Midwest. Wright is thought to have designed it for art glass around 1895, but it was never produced. It’s an early example of his talent for turning nature into geometric design. Here the lilies and their long stems are cut into silver-tone panels that join into a long, three-dimensional icicle that catches the light as it turns.
