The desert, Wright style. In this design, Frank Lloyd Wright celebrated the saguaro cactus, using it on the cover of Modern Architecture, a collection of the lectures he gave at Princeton in 1930. After a devastating fire at the Arizona Biltmore Resort in 1973, Taliesin Architects adapted the design into an art glass window for the resort’s entrance, where you can still see it today. This ceramic tile is hand-glazed in small batches by skilled artists in Tucson, Arizona, so its colors stay bright and it holds up for years. A cork backing prevents scratches, and a built-in hanging hole makes it easy to display on any wall or shelf.
